As to the rate of exchange refer him to our let-
ter of the 27th Deo. Say that the Gov. will not
receive our deap. sending out his letter till
towards the end of the present month, but that
we will then ask for a tel. reply if he
desires it.
As to the last par. but one send him
copies of our tel. to Gov. on 73751 and of the
Gov.'s reply, 3044, and call his attention
to the distinct understanding that if the
satisfactory Promoters fail to complete arrangements for
financing the scheme by the 2nd of April
the Agreement will be cancelled.

I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter 3044/1920 of the
19th, instant for which I am much obliged.
I note the deposit in London of the equivalent of $50,000. will
be accepted but your letter does not say if this may be taken at £5,000
as proposed in my letter to you of December 24th.
The Promoters hope to be in the position to complete their
arrangements by April 2nd. make the deposit with the Crown Agents,
forward a statement to you proving their financial ability to carry
out the scheme and ask that the Agreement may be signed and the
Ordinance passed.
In the event of the arrangements not being completed by April 2nd.
the Promoters propose to make the deposit with the Crown Agents on or
before that date and forward their financial statement to you as soon
as possible thereafter but not later than June 30th, in accordance Gr with paragraph 3. of your letter 47790/1919. dated September 4th, 1919.
It is presumed this will be in order.

been good enough to render,
